Contemporary landscape painter, Scot
Dolby finds inspiration in the wetlands and waterfronts of the Eastern
Shore of the Delmarva Peninsula, near Ocean City,
Maryland.
His
current paintings of simplified landscapes reveal abstract and
representational components in the composition. Using a variety of
tools, droppers, pipettes, and brushes he builds layers of spattered
subtext. Finding beauty in the shapes of the landscape.
The land has always been integral in the exploration of
line, color,
and form. The land inspires art. His inspiration; fly-fishing, hiking,
camping, and canoeing attune the imagination, taking him places wild
fish live. The landscape is a beautiful challenge.
With
the process evolving, discoveries present themselves with each new
work, never a tired topic. A traditional subject presented in a
contemporary way...
